for those of you that haven’t noticed… april was national poetry month,, and the challenge to produce poetry every day was alluring,, so i took that challenge and ran with it…
as of this moment,, i am poetically spent… and it is no doubt as i have written 54 poems over the course of the month,, and those are just the ones that were completed and posted on one of my three blogs…
if for some reason you didn’t already know,, i have three creative blogs that i do my best to update daily,, although at times i do slouch on one or another… and they are:
…why paisley???
just paisley….
the ink pot
and then,, just for fun,, there is:
secret,,, secret,,, i’ve got a secret….
on which i publish your secrets anonymously for all the world to see,, and comment on should they be so moved…. if you have yet to stop in here,, do so and feel free to drop your secret in the anonymous secret drop off site as well…. i am forever searching for the most intimate of secrets!!!!!
so today i am going to take a day off and regroup.. read one of the three (yes i had to have all three!!!) biographical memoirs of janis joplin i just got from amazon yesterday,, and relax….
i will be back tomorrow,, rested and refreshed,, and on the first of eleven consecutive days off!!! i am indulging myself in kind of a “stay at home and do all the things i have put off all year in order to remain glued to the computer” type of vacation…..
see you then!!

Good for you and you deserve both the time off and the vacation time. I had an interesting experience yesterday I talked to Diane’s therapist.

That’s what I did last week. It was school vacation and I just had to have a vacation from writing. I did write a couple but only because I wanted to not because I felt I had to.
There’s nothing like a day of reading! Enjoy!

Eleven days! Enjoy every minute of it. I’m going to imagine you walking the beach, the wind in your hair, reading your Janis books, eating delicious food, and writing only when you absolutely have to because you can’t stop the flow. Recharge your batteries. And congratulations on writing so many entertaining, lovely, and thought provoking poems and comments. Yours are always the first blogs I visit, and you are one of just a few I have on my google reader. So, that’s my compliment to you!

I’m betting you write, at least once. Enjoy your time off and let us know if one of those three books is a must read over the others, please.

“Pearl” was probably the second album I ever owned. I was in elementary school, I think. Janis’s singing gave me my first introduction what “soul” really meant.

Yes, I did know that April is Poetry Month. Once a schoolie, always a schoolie. And 54+ poems is quite the accomplishment, paisley. I don’t know how you do it. Seriously. It takes me forever to write poetry and I have to be in just the right mood, in the right place. High maintenance. Enjoy your time with Janis. Well-deserved! And thanks for the always appreciated advice on the blogwrap. You’re true blue.

as I commented on one of the other blogs, Paisley, if there is anyone who can bring back what I seem to have lost, the need to put myself into poetry, you’re the one to do it.
