.......... i have a poem, my chemical romance,, up on almost-dead poets society,, and yet another,, entitled, celluloid ,, up on your stories. your poems.... c'mon over..........

this post is courtesy of three word wednesday

there is a back story to this,, and the poem may not mean anything unless you know what that back story is,, and why the things i have seen,, are weighing so heavily on my mind as the date june, 20th draws ever closer… and no.. i haven’t told anyone but you…..

if you would like to view the story behind this you may read the back story, here: (mis)information

fear

maybe june 20th
will come and go-
without incident.
maybe no one will die
or be seriously injured
and i will never have to feel
like i should have said something
maybe,, it was a dream…
maybe, i am not
a human portal after all..
maybe i cannot see the things
i think i have seen,
and i am being overly cautious.
for no reason at all…

but maybe,,
just maybe…
i will be right again….

Worrying indeed. Mindst you, in the 25 years I’ve been researching the paranormal I’ve come across many theories that do not involve a real knowledge of the future.

Jodi when I was 20 I was living abroad. Everybody thought I came suddenly home for my boyfriend, but I knew just knew that another friend–a 22 year old healthy male was going to die

Meanwhile I told nobody I was coming home and my boyfriend had a globe out and was telling people where I was around the world coming home. They laughed at him…

I told him and he believed me. He encouraged me to tell my friend. I told him he was going to have serious health issues unless he went to a doctor immediately. He and his girlfriend laughed at my concern

A few weeks later he went to the emergency room. They gave him the wrong medicine. He went into a coma and died some weeks later.

I felt very guilty but I learned that you can’t change fate–and maybe I named my blog Courting Destiny as I want to change destiny and that’s supposed to be impossible. I have no idea why I named it what I did. Been thinking about it lately

Thanks Paisley for another great poem, the back story and everything else

Works (for me) without the background. With it, it’s spooky. (That’s okay though cause I have a night-light.) I believe your gift for pairing these incredible images with your words is no less magical than your gift with words. You’re a force.

    Wow. Wow. Holy shit.

OK, I’m going to try and think coherently now, though it’s difficult.

This is definitely going to be one you keep us all abreast of.

And for your sake, and his, I hope you’re wrong. I hope it was just a dream.

I’ve also had premonitions but not as clearly as yours. IMO, it can only mean that the future is pre-ordained but that’s not to say we cannot alter it. Don’t feel guilty - just do what your gut feels is right, whether that’s to tell your co-worker or not. Ultimately, you are not responsible for another’s destiny, remember that. :)

Love your poem and thanks for sharing the back story.

I am sure this has been weighing on your mind. As you say, there is no way of knowing whether or not the events you saw will come to pass. I understand the burden of it. My Grandmother experienced similar ‘visions’ regularly. It is the waiting that is the hardest part. Try not to worry.

eerie after reading the back story. I heard of these things happening to people but thought much about it. I guess I had to be there to know how it really feels

Wonderful poem, very delicate. The back story has me wondering too. I remember the original post, and I can see how you have thought about it a lot since then. It weighs on your mind. Any thoughts about how you’ll proceed from here?

okay.. Ask yourself this.. If someone out there had that premonition about YOU, wouldn’t you want to know?
I know I sure as hell would want to know! If her brother is told and he laughs it off, then you Will not have a guilty conscience when he crashes on 6/20 which I very much believe is a strong possibility.
Do you still have contact with her? how bad is the language barrier? Have you ever seen danger in MY future?
PLEASE tell me if you ever do!

Wow! Powerful stuff. A friend of mine was killed in a car accident at age 30, just 9 months after she had stayed with me on her vacation. We had gone to get tarot cards read but at the last minute, she decided she didn’t want her’s read. I always wonder what would the reader have said, or if anything would have been revealed at all.

I too am skeptical of many who profess clairvoyancy, but then there are others.

I too have my moments of being clairvoyant, leaning a little more to clairsentient. But I would never pursue my “understandings” as a career. They are too irregular and unexpected. Like flashes!

These moments of vision cannot be denied. But sometimes they have a number of interpretations.

Strange! This is one reason I have been attracted to your writings. I felt you were this way inclined. I sense more will be revealed in time. (That is an ambiguous statement, I know.)

    Utterly fascinating.

Such phenomena worries us especially if it’s someone close. I would consider letting it go. Like one buddhist monk once said, we’re born so we will live and we will experience things. I like the way you link back to your earlier post.

I really enjoyed reading this. It’s quite good. Although I wish I had not read the back story first because once you read it, it’s difficult to gauge the poem by itself. That said I enjoyed the back story as well. Hopefully this doesn’t sound patronizing but you have the elements of a great story here. I can see this film in my head.

excellent… i agree, when we have those kinda dreams do we tell or not…. in the end i was compelled to tell and could not keep it to myself… it may not necessarily mean the person’s death as i saw it but that it felt like a warning that they better change direction or that the person i told would know how to better interpret… it is not something i try to analyze too deeply…

  26. #26 HollyGLNo Gravatar says:

Just trust yourself, Paisley. Its not unusual for someone to “see” - or even sense - the future at a level that is not considered scientifically “valid”. Who cares what anyone else thinks. You know what’s “real”. Everything else is the illusion.

  27. #27 BoneNo Gravatar says:

Wow. I have no advice, but I do think people sometimes get bad feelings that foreshadow or coincide with a death or a tragedy. And several times people have told me they dreamt things that happened later. Your piece was haunting.
